Learning Leaders Winners UL and Amway: Using Learning to Ramp Up New Hire Productivity

Greg Jenkinson, Program Manager at UL University, talked about UL’s blended learning boot camp for new product safety engineers. The twelve-week program – which includes hands-on labs, self-paced e-learning and field experience at customer manufacturing sites – has cut the time for engineer qualification in half. Steve Kling, Manager, Instructional Design at Amway, talked about Amway’s blended sales training program designed to improve early success of newly hired independent business owners (IBOs). The program resulted in 76% of new IBO retention after the first year – 46% higher than previous rates.
